Young man accused of involvement in Texas drive-by shooting

Aug 29, 2018 | Violent Crimes

When individuals reach the age of a majority, they must face the same criminal legal proceedings as any other adult who has been charged with a crime. Even though the person may still be a teenager, he or she must take the situation seriously and determine what courses of action may help when it comes to defending against charges. When an individual has been accused of involvement in a drive-by shooting, a meaningful criminal defense could make all the difference.

It was recently reported that a young man in Texas was taken into custody due to authorities believing that he participated in a drive-by shooting. Apparently, the alleged shooting took place last month when a vehicle drove by a home and shots were fired. There were multiple people inside the home at the time of the incident, but no injuries resulted.

It was not detailed what caused authorities to suspect that the 18-year-old man was involved. Nonetheless, police issued a warrant for his arrest, and he recently turned himself in. He now faces a criminal charge of aggravated assault. At the time of the report, he was still in custody on a $70,000 bond.

This charge could substantially impact the young man’s future if he is convicted. In hopes of working toward a more desirable outcome, it may be in his best interests for him and his parents to review his legal options. Gaining information from local Texas legal resources on the charges relating to the drive-by shooting and on possible defense avenues could prove beneficial.
