Jan 22, 2019 | Violent Crimes

While accidents certainly do happen, some of them have tragic outcomes. A person may have never meant to harm someone else, but an unexpected event could occur that results in the death of an individual. In such cases, an accused party could face serious allegations, such as manslaughter, and need to defend him or herself against the charges.

It was recently reported that a woman in Texas was taken into custody after a fatal incident. Apparently, the woman had been posing for a photo and was using a rifle as a prop. The woman’s boyfriend was going to take the picture, and she pointed the rifle at him while posing. However, the woman accidentally fired the rifle, and her 26-year-old boyfriend was shot.

The incident resulted in the man succumbing to his injuries. It was not mentioned whether he died at the scene or if he had been taken to a hospital. The incident resulted in the woman, who was reported as being 20 years old, being taken into custody. She is facing charges for manslaughter, and she was being held at the time of the report on a $200,000 bond.

Allegations of manslaughter must be taken seriously, and the woman accused in this Texas case will undoubtedly have a long road ahead of her while dealing with her case. She may feel intimidated, frightened and confused, but she must still handle the allegations with which she has been charged. Gaining information on her legal options may help her feel more in control and comfortable as her case proceeds.
