Criminal charges can change a person’s life in many ways. Two women in Texas are currently facing such a predicament. Reports stated that a 23-year-old woman was driving an SUV that was also occupied by another 23-year-old woman. The passenger’s 3-month-old child was also in the vehicle. A police officer reportedly stopped the SUV for an undisclosed reason. Also for unclear reasons, the officer apparently requested to search the vehicle, which the driver allegedly agreed to.
The search reportedly resulted in the officer discovering 51 lbs. of heroin in the SUV. It is speculated that the street value of the substance is approximately $10 million with a wholesale value of around $2 million. As a result, both women were taken into custody on aggravated drug trafficking charges. Child Protective Services took custody of the infant.
