Mar 17, 2020 | Drug Offenses

When under investigation for any type of crime, individuals can feel nervous about the possible outcomes. In some cases, information gathered during the investigation could result in criminal charges for heroin possession or other drug-related allegations. If so, a person facing these accusations could have a difficult road ahead.

It was recently reported that one woman in Texas was recently charged after an investigation. Apparently, the woman works for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and for unknown reasons, she became the subject of a narcotics investigation. During the investigation, authorities went to her home to conduct a search and allegedly found a substance that supposedly later tested positive for heroin. As a result, a warrant was issued for the woman’s arrest.

The woman voluntarily turned herself in at a county jail, and the report stated that she is currently facing charges for possessing 1-4 grams of a controlled substance, which is a third-degree felony. The woman was released from custody on a $7,500 bond. It was also noted that dozens of child custody cases that the woman had worked on would be under review and reassigned.

This woman certainly wants to handle the heroin charges as best as possible, and it may be wise for her to begin by gaining information on her legal rights and options. This information could allow her to better understand her available criminal defense routes and determine how she would feel most comfortable moving forward. Utilizing local Texas legal resources may help her obtain reliable information.
