Texas security guard charged for violent crime

Jan 2, 2019 | Violent Crimes

Authorities are alerted to alleged crimes on a daily basis. In many cases, these alerts lead to investigations that can result in arrests. When a person is arrested in relation to a violent crime, he or she could be at risk of facing serious consequences if convicted of charges.

It was recently reported that one man in Texas was taken into custody. Apparently, the 39-year-old man is a security guard, and police suspect that he had involvement in a robbery and assault. As a result, he was taken into custody and is currently facing charges for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. The charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place at a nightclub last July.

Reports stated that a 33-year-old man had parked at a nightclub and was approached by a security guard called “Cowboy,” who police are reportedly still looking for. This security guard purportedly handcuffed the man and took him to the other security guard’s vehicle where they allegedly hit the man with a baton, Tased him and took a necklace, ring, bracelet and $4,000 from him. They also purportedly told the man that he would be killed if he told police. At the time of the report, “Cowboy” had not been apprehended, and the other security guard had been released from custody on two $35,000 bonds.

Accusations of a violent crime often come with more serious criminal charges and potential consequences. The man arrested in this Texas case will surely want to make sure that his rights are upheld as his case moves forward. Understanding his defense options may allow him to choose the legal route he feels most comfortable following.
