Texas man facing murder charge after state trooper death

Nov 30, 2017 | Violent Crimes

One man in Texas may hope to find the criminal defense options that work best for him after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the man has been charged with capital murder in the reported death of a state trooper. Apparently, the incident began when the trooper attempted to stop the 32-year-old man’s vehicle on Interstate 45.

After the stop, the man allegedly shot the officer while he was walking back to his police cruiser. The driver purportedly left the scene of the incident in the vehicle, and he then later reportedly attempted to evade officers on foot. A police dog purportedly located the man as he attempted to hide in a field. The report mentioned that he was treated for injuries.

The trooper who had conducted the initial traffic stop did not survive the injuries he suffered. As a result, the man has had allegations of capital murder of a law enforcement officer filed against him. At the time of the report, the man was still being held in a county jail. It was also noted that a bond hearing for the charge had not yet taken place.

In order to address the murder charge that has been brought against him, this Texas man will certainly want to find out more information about his particular situation. Because a conviction for this type of offense could result in serious consequences, working to find the best defense routes for his predicament could work in his favor. Therefore, it may prove useful to him to utilize local legal resources for applicable information.
