Several counts of animal abuse leveled against Texas man

Dec 28, 2018 | Animal Cruelty Charges

Legal issues can follow a person for a considerable amount of time. Even when facing these issues head-on, it can take individuals time, effort, close consideration and many other factors to address them. When facing felony charges for crimes like animal abuse, parties may find it useful to play an active role in finding the best defense strategies.

It was recently reported that one man in Texas was taken into custody for animal cruelty. According to reports, authorities were alerted to an aggressive dog. When they arrived at the location, the officers saw 12 dogs attacking one dog. It was unclear how ownership was determined, but reports stated that all 13 dogs belonged to a 28-year-old man. It was also mentioned that the dogs looked malnourished.

Animal control authorities took all 13 dogs to an animal shelter. The man was taken into custody and is facing 13 counts of animal cruelty. It was also noted that there were 51 active warrants against him. He was booked into a county jail on a $26,000 bond. The investigation into the abuse was still underway at the time of the report.

Accusations of animal abuse — like every other criminal charge — should be taken seriously. This Texas man will undoubtedly want to make sure that he understands how the numerous counts against him will affect his case. It is also prudent for him to gain information on the legal process that he will face and the duration of his case. Preparing for a long process may be wise.
