When authorities suspect that drug-related activities are taking place at certain locations, they often work to gather evidence against potential suspects. Often, these investigations lead to raids that can result in parties being taken into custody on charges for possession, distribution or trafficking of substances like cocaine or other accusations. When this happens, accused parties typically want to avoid negative consequences if possible.
It was recently reported that two individuals were taken into custody as the result of separate raids in Texas. Apparently, authorities first carried out a search warrant at a home, and they purportedly uncovered marijuana and cocaine at the residence. As a result, a 24-year-old woman was taken into custody on charges for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, both felony charges.
In the second incident, authorities carried out a raid on a travel trailer. They allegedly discovered what they suspected was methamphetamine. This operation resulted in a 60-year-old man being taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Information was not given regarding what caused authorities to initially suspect either of the locations or either individual of drug-related activity.
Regardless of what raised suspicions, the man and woman both have serious allegations to address. Charges for cocaine and methamphetamine possession are serious, and each person will undoubtedly want to determine what legal options may best suit his or her predicament. Other individuals in Texas facing similar difficulties may want to remember that they have a right to legal counsel who could help them through their cases.
